@ Malavenda, Hackney
Memory is an act of resistance.
On 25 April, we took over Malavenda Café in Hackney to mark the anniversary of the liberation from Nazi‑fascism — not as a history lesson, but as a live, collective statement. A day of radical sounds, walk‑in performances and collective resistance marking the anniversary of the liberation from Nazi‑fascism. Live musicians, open‑floor artists and a grassroots community reclaiming space through culture.
What happened:
- Live Musicians & Performers — radical sounds, political energy, and spontaneous sets throughout the day.
- Walk‑in Artists — an open floor for musicians and performers who joined from midday onwards, bringing voices, instruments and craft to share with the collective.
- Collective Presence — whether stepping up to the mic or standing with the crowd, everyone’s presence became an act of resistance.
